Feed the Shoggoth! is on sale!

Greetings, fellow pseudopods,

In light of the holiday season, what with Yithmass quickly approaching and all, we thought it would be a great idea to launch a sale of Feed the Shoggoth!. Yes, for the entire month of December, you’ll get $5 off your copy. In fact, each copy you purchase will get the discount. Normally $20, FtS! will run you just $15 with this coupon code:

shoggydec16

When you proceed to the checkout page, you’ll see a field to enter in the coupon code. Just drop it in there, and you’ll be good to go! FtS! will make a great stocking stuffer…but since Shoggoths leave a bit of a trail of slime, you may want to wash that stocking after. Or just set it on fire.

Official turn counter now available, and a new mini on the way

Greetings, fellow pseudopods,

We’re happy to announce that we have now made the official Feed the Shoggoth! turn counter available here at our webstore! The counter was originally made as part of the FtS! Kickstarter, but we have some leftover stock that we’re now making available for general purchase. Just click on the Shop button, and you can order it there.

In addition, we’re working again with Jason McKittrick of Cryptocurium fame to bring you a brand new Shoggoth mini! This little guy will be smaller than the original that was part of the KS (the original will remain a one time only thing), and should retail for about $10 plus shipping. When we have more news on that, we’ll post it here, but expect it to be available in a couple of months or so.

And finally, work is underway on our first expansion to Feed the Shoggoth!. It’ll feature brand new Spells, Artifacts…even Actions and Minion cards! In fact, we’ve got so many designs coming up that we may have to split these into two releases…but we’ll see. 🙂

As always, thanks for your support!

Various bits

Hello, fellow pseudopods,

There’s a number of little tidbits of news to catch everyone up on. Starting with:

  • A new game store added to the list! Thanks to the kind people at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR, Feed the Shoggoth! is now carried by Guardian Games! They run an amazing store; if you’re in their area, be sure to check them out.
  • The latest issue of Casual Game Insider features a glowing review of FtS! In addition, they’re doing a big giveaway of games that’s still going on. You still have more than a month (as of this post) to enter in their Big Box O’ Games Giveaway!
  • And other positive review has been posted on Everythingboardgames.com. Check it out!

That about does it for now!

Store expansion

Just a small note that Feed the Shoggoth! will (or should be shortly, as soon as the shipment arrives) be available at Tyche’s Games in Athens, Georgia. You can find more information on their store at the How to Buy page.

Also, we’re about to make our first foray into the overseas brick and mortar market! I’ll post more about this soon, but let me say now that it’ll be so cool to have FtS! for sale in Denmark. 😀 I’m hoping this will be the first of many, as i’ve been getting a lot of requests from the UK for the game.

Board Game Quest reviews FtS!

It’s been out for a little while now, but it’s still definitely worthy of posting here. The website Board Game Quest posted a review of Feed the Shoggoth! in late April. Here’s a snippet of what they had to say:

The two main strengths of Feed the Shoggoth! are the replay value and the Shoggoth card. The huge variety of the Faction, Spell, and Artifact cards help make each game experience different each time you play. You will find that the Spell and Artifact cards have a few repeated cards, but for the most part, especially with the Artifacts, all are almost completely unique. Having a different game experience is ideal for replay.

You can read the entire review by checking out this page on Board Game Quest’s site.

FtS! featured as part of Gamescape North’s Gotta Play

I wish i’d known about this before…apparently, Feed the Shoggoth! was one of the featured games in Gamescape North’s Gotta Play line up. It just happened April 30th, and i found out about it…well, just now. Otherwise, i’d be telling you to head over to Gamescape North (if you’re in the area, of course), and give it a try!

Drat.

Still, i’m very honored for FtS! to have been selected. And they also just posted a really nice review of the game here:

Review: Feed the Shoggoth

In addition, i’ve heard tell that FtS! will get a mention in a certain newsletter put out by a certain company…name rhymes with “Dayosium”, i think…

Hellnotes posts a review of Feed the Shoggoth!

Hot on the heels of a positive review from Fathergeek.com, we’ve got another review from Hellnotes.com. This review is particularly notable, as it’s written by Brian Sammons, a veteran Lovecraft fiction author, as well as the creator of many Call of Cthulhu scenarios. In summing up, Brian had this to say about the game:

If you are a fan of H.P. Lovecraft’s stories and the works of the wider Cthulhu Mythos and like fun and games, this game is a must have. If you have no idea who the hell Lovecraft is and have never read any of this tales but still want to play a fast and fun card game, this is a must have. So yeah, it’s pretty much a must have. Get it, and don’t forget to keep that shoggoth well fed.

You can check out the full review on hellnotes.com.
